On July 10th at 1:58 AM, Ptl. Julia Cutolo conduct On July 10th at 1:58 AM, Ptl. Julia Cutolo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Pitney Avenue and arrested Leonard Schwinder, 37, Lakewood for Driving While Intoxicated. He was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.

On July 15th at 5:39 PM, Officer Michael Guzman took a report of Theft by Deception on Sussex Avenue.

On July 16th at 3:57 AM, Ptl. Joseph Liddy arrested Jose Mateodonis, 23, Highland Mills, NY on an outstanding warrant out of Clifton. He was released pending a future court date.

On July 19th at 3:29 AM, Ptl. William Kelly responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft on Edgewood Place. The investigation is continuing.

On July 19th at 8:01 AM, Ptl. Matthew Phillips responded to a report of a Burglary on Red Oak Drive. The investigation is continuing.

On July 20th at 5:31 PM, Ptl. Liddy took a report of Fraud and Theft on Washington Avenue. The investigation is continuing.

On July 21st at 3:41 PM, Officer Trent Powers arrested Jeffrey Mechanic, 37, Spring Lake on an outstanding warrant out of Spring Lake. He was processed and released pending a future court date.

On July 24th at 8:30 AM, Joshua M. Nicolary, 27, Williamstown, was arrested on an outstanding Spring Lake warrant for Stalking and Harassment, stemming from an incident on July 13th. He was processed and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. The investigation and arrest were handled by Ptl. Liddy and DSgt. Christopher Kucinski, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service.

On July 24th at 2:13 PM, Ptl. James Heine took a report of theft on Third Avenue. The investigation is continuing.
Tomorrow morning, Tuesday July 25th, expect delays Tomorrow morning, Tuesday July 25th, expect delays in the area of St Margaret’s Church due to a large funeral. Third Avenue will be closed between Ludlow and Worthington Ave beginning at 9:30 AM until approximately 11:45 AM. Also expect temporary traffic disruptions during the procession following the funeral. Please avoid the area and plan for extra travel time.

On June 12th at 11:00 AM, Ptl. Ryan Reiff conducte On June 12th at 11:00 AM, Ptl. Ryan Reiff conducted a motor vehicle stop on Third Avenue and arrested Troy Jones, 35, Brick, on outstanding warrants from Beachwood, Brick and Ocean Township. He posted bail and was released.

On June 13th at 4:05 PM, Matthew Jansson, 57, Sea Girt, was arrested in relation to a previous bicycle theft at the Spring Lake Train Station. He was charged with Theft, Criminal Mischief and Possession of Burglar’s Tools. DSgt. Christopher Kucinski and Ptl. Joseph Liddy made the arrest.

On June 18th at 1:42 AM, Ptl. Liddy conducted a motor vehicle stop on Third Avenue and arrested Agustin Enriquez, Jr., 27, Perth Amboy for Driving While Intoxicated. He was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.

On June 24th at 1:57 AM, Ptl. Liddy conducted a motor vehicle stop on Monroe Avenue and arrested Meghan Wilson, 23, Staten Island, NY for Driving While Intoxicated. She was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.

On June 24th at 4:21 AM, Michael McHugh and Matthew McHugh, both 21 of Avon, were arrested by Ptl. Liddy and Ptl. William Noble and charged with Simple Assault on Ocean Avenue. They were released on a Summons.

On June 29th at 1:53 PM, Sgt. Anthony Ploskonka took a report of Harassment on Third Avenue. Following an investigation, Ruben D. Diaz, 65, Ocean Township was arrested and charged with Harassment. NJ State Parole Officers assisted in the arrest. Diaz was processed and then transported to the Monmouth County Jail.

On July 4th at 1:46 PM, Special Officer Trent Powers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Adrian Avenue and arrested Willy Lopez, 31, Trenton for Driving While Intoxicated and Hindering Apprehension. Lopez was also found to have outstanding warrants from Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. He was processed and released to the custody of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
The Spring Lake Police Department Honor Guard was The Spring Lake Police Department Honor Guard was proud to represent our town last week at the NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police 111th Annual Training Conference in Atlantic City. This newly formed unit will serve primarily at local ceremonies, funerals, parades, sporting events and other prestigious functions where they can formerly present the colors of our nation, state and local municipality. This volunteer group of officers trains on a regular basis to maintain their high standards of drill and ceremony.

  1. Subsequent to an investigation from September 2022, Jennifer Rosario-Felix 21, Plainfield was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Rosario-Fleix was charged with conspiracy to commit theft. Rosario-Felix was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

  2. Patrolman Ryan Reiff responded to the 1200 block of Fifth Avenue for a dispute

    Officer Matthew Bogdan received a report of a stolen bicycle from the area of the Spring Lake Train Station.

    Patrolman Joseph Liddy responded to the area 100 Second Avenue for a dispute.

    Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Church Street near Fourth Avenue, Michael Calascione 30, Matawan was arrested by Patrolman Julia Cutolo. Calascione was charged with driving while intoxicated as well as several other motor vehicle offenses.
