Sergeant Sean Duggan responded to the 400 block of Tuttle Avenue for a report of harassment.
May 31st
Officer Nicholas Endaz received a report of a stolen bicycle from the 2100 block of Ocean Avenue. The victim believed that the theft occurred around May 20th.
May 30th
Patrolman Emmett Smith received a report of attempted fraud from a victim in the 300 block of South Boulevard.
May 26th
Patrolman Ryan Reiff responded tot he 1500 block of Ocean Avenue for a report of a dispute.
Officer Jeffrey Lewandowski received a report of a theft of a bicycle from the area of the South End Pavilion.
Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop in the 2000 block of Third Avenue, Michael Whitzell 48, Great Meadows, was arrested by Officer Brooke Costa. Whitzell was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, believed to be under 50 grams of marijuana as well as possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop in the 1000 block of First Avenue, Kelli Thomas 24, Lakewood was arrested by Patrolman Matthew Phillips. Thomas was charged with driving while intoxicated as well as several other motor vehicle violations.
May 25th
Officer Joseph Liddy responded to the 100 block of Monroe Avenue for a dispute.
2023 Spring Lake 5
On May 27, 2023 many roads in the Borough will be closed for the Spring Lake 5 Mile Run (see below for course map). The race begins at 8:30 AM and many roads will be closed shortly before that time. Parking is also prohibited on the following streets due to the race:
All of Ocean Avenue
North Boulevard from Ocean Avenue to Main Street – Belmar/Lake Como
Third Avenue from Lake Como to Passaic Avenue
Third Avenue in the Business District
Warren Avenue from Third Avenue to Fifth Avenue
Fifth Avenue between Passaic Avenue and Warren Avenue
Warren Avenue & West Lake Avenue from Fifth Avenue to Second Avenue
Second Avenue from West Lake Drive to Brown AvenueÂ
All of Brown Avenue
Any vehicle parked in those areas will be ticketed and towed. The overnight parking ordinance will not be enforced on Friday, May 26th (Friday night into Saturday morning, 5/27/23). If you need to leave the Borough anytime in the morning, we suggest you park your vehicle on a street west of the race course to make it easier to leave town.

Sergeant Patrick Gilroy received a report of identity theft from a victim in the 000 block of Seawood Way.
Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop in the 000 block of Ocean Avenue Domantas Cincius 19, Spring Lake Heights was arrested by Patrolman William Noble. Cincius was arrested based on an active warrant out of another jurisdiction.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop in the 2500 block of Ocean Avenue, Jeffrey Mechanic 33, Colts Neck was arrested by Patrolman William Noble. Mechanic was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, believed to be under 50 grams of marijuana.
