Patrolman Joseph Liddy received a report of criminal mischief in the area of the 300 block of West Lake Avenue.

Patrols were dispatched to the area of the Newark Avenue Beach for a report of individuals stuck on the jetty. Upon arrival officers determined that the individuals were fishing and needed no assistance coming off the jetty.

Patrolman William Noble received a report of a suspicious incident in the area of the 1200 block of Third Avenue. Victim reported that the incident took place on November 6th.

The Spring Lake Police Department is currently accepting applications for Class I Special Officers. Special Officer Class I are hired to assist with the beach front, Third Avenue Business District and various events during the summer season.

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

• Must be a citizen of the United States
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• A minimum of a high school diploma or a GED equivalent
• Must be able read, write and speak the English language
• Must be in good health and be able to perform the physical demands of the duties assigned
• Must be of good moral character and shall not have been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude or dishonesty that would make him/her unfit to perform the duties of police officer

Selected applicants will be sent to the Monmouth County Police Academy to take part in a mandatory two week training for the position in early May 2022.

Patrolman Ryan Reiff received a report of theft from the area of West Lake Avenue and St. Catharine’s Way.

Patrolman Jeffrey Algor responded to the area of the 200 block of Howell for a reported dispute.

Officer Matthew McGrady received a report of attempted fraud to a business in the 300 block of Washington Avenue. The caller purported to be an employee of JCP&L looking to collect an “overdue electric payment.”

Patrolman Ryan Reiff received a report of theft from a walk in victim at Spring Lake Police Headquarters. Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski is assisting in the investigation.

Patrolman Joseph Liddy received a report of theft from a business in the 1300 block of Third Avenue.

Patrolman William Kelly received a report of fraud from a resident in the 400 block of Sussex.

Patrolman James Heine received a report of fraud from a resident in the 200 block of Morris Avenue.
