Starting Wednesday, November 16th, utility work wi Starting Wednesday, November 16th, utility work will begin on Church Street & Pitney Avenue. The road work will continue over the next severqk weeks.  Portions or all of Piney Avenue, Church Street as well as intersections in the area may be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic during the work.  Please be prepared for detours.

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SPECIAL OFFICER CLASS I ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SPECIAL OFFICER CLASS I - SUMMER 2023

 

The Spring Lake Police Department is currently accepting applications for Class I Special Officers. Special Officer Class I is hired to assist with the beachfront, Third Avenue Business District, and various events during the summer season.

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

Must be a citizen of the United States

Must be at least 18 years of age

A minimum of a high school diploma or a GED equivalent

Must be able to read, write and speak the English language

Must be in good health and be able to perform the physical demands of the duties assigned

Must be of good moral character and shall not have been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude or dishonesty that would make him/her unfit to perform the duties of a police officer

Selected applicants will be sent to the Monmouth County Police Academy to take part in mandatory two-week training for the position in early May 2023.

  1. Subsequent to an investigation from July, Olin Muldrow 32, Staten Island was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Muldrow was charged with theft, criminal mischief and defiant trespass in the 700 block of Ocean Avenue on July 30, 2022. Officer Harry Cuttrell and Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski assisted in the investigation.

  2. Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Pitney Avenue in the area of Edgewood Place, Dina Salerno 58 Brick, was arrested by Patrolman Julia Cutolo. Salerno was charged with driving while intoxicated as well as several other motor vehicle offenses.
