Applications for Class I Officers – 2020

The Spring Lake Police Department is currently accepting applications for Class I Special Officers. Special Officer Class I are hired to assist with the beach front and Third Avenue Business District during the summer season.

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or a GED equivalent
  • Must be able read, write and speak the English language
  • Must be in good health and be able to perform the physical demands of the duties assigned
  • Must be of good moral character and shall not have been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude or dishonesty that would make him/her unfit to perform the duties of police officer

Selected applicants will be sent to the Monmouth County Police Academy to take part in a mandatory two week training for the position in early April – May 2020.

Road Paving

Starting on Tuesday October 24th, milling and paving work will take place on Third Avenue.  Portions or all of Third Avenue from Lake Como to Vroom Avenue will be closed or detoured for motor vehicle traffic and parking.  This project is slated to continue through Friday, October 27th.

October 15th

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop, Richaed Forlenza 27, Little Egg Harbor was arrested by Patrolman Ryan Reiff.  Forlenza was arrested in the 500 block of Mercer Avenue based on active warrants out of other jurisdictions.

Patrolman William Kelly responded to the 300 block of Second Avenue for criminal mischief.

 

October 7th

Patrolman Matthew Phillips responded to the 400 block of Washington for a dispute.

Sergeant Sean Duggan responded to the 300 block of Brighton Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle theft.  Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski is assisting in the investigation.

Sergeant Anthony Ploskonka responded to the 000 block of York Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle theft.  Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski is assisting in the investigation.
