A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR: Good afternoon. This is A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR:

Good afternoon.
This is Mayor Jennifer Naughton with a brief, but important, weather update. Beginning at approximately 6pm tomorrow evening (Christmas Eve) the Borough will begin experiencing a strong wind event, with sustained winds of 45 miles an hour and gusts of up to 60 miles an hour. Please secure any Christmas decorations, porch furniture, or other loose items. Please bring any inflatable or unsecured lawn decorations inside. The risk for power outages during strong winds is already high, and JCPL has warned us of the danger of these objects becoming caught in our power lines and causing a sustained outage. The storm should pass by early Christmas morning.

If you do experience a power outage, please call JCPL directly at
1-888-544-4877. Thank you for taking a few minutes to reduce our chances of experiencing a power outage during the holiday.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The Borough of Spring Lake requests that re The Borough of Spring Lake requests that residents take notice of the following 2020 Guidelines for Halloween during the Covid19 pandemic.

Trick-or-treat hours of 2:00pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, October 31st.

Request that homes that are participating place a table or basket(s) and/or a sign in front of their home indicating their participation so that kids do not have to knock and to avoid hand to hand interactions. (Sign like or similar to the attached picture)

Request that all trick-or-treaters respect our neighbors and not knock on doors without some indication that the home is participating.

If space allows, spreading out treats is preferable as it limits multiple hands reaching into the same bowl.

Request that all participants wear proper face coverings when within 6 feet of people not in their immediate group. Halloween masks are not proper face coverings.
